Harry and The Bird Bath

We got a bird bath for the garden. My wife put a little water in the bowl, and some crumbs of bread around the rim to attract the first birds.

When Harry first went out into the garden his attention was not immediately grabbed by the new birdbath. But he did started sniffing around a lot. There was something he liked.

Warmer ... warmer... warmer... Harry likes bread.

Of course!!
Dogs like bread, crackers, cereal, food....
Friends had a Golden Retriever who parked herself under their daughter's high chair with her head on the side where the Cheerios dropped. The Cheerios never hit the floor. The Dog caught them on the way down. Never had to sweep under or around THAT chair.

Let those birdies eat cake!! ;~)

I really don't mean to pee on your parade (or Harry's bread snuffling activities) but my Border Terrier was seriously ill (ie heart stopped twice, 3 nights in vet surgery on a drip) we think due to picking up bread that had been put out for the birds. Bugs grow on bread, really nasty bugs can be carried by birds. Can add up to a potentially lethal combo!
